Photos do not do this warm-colored cloisonné pendant justice! Cloisonné part of pendant has a dusty pink along with a rich red and orange transparent enamel surfaces separated by copper wires kiln-fired in place. This particular vitreous enamel technique involves applying clear enamel onto the front and back of a piece of metal. Then, wires are bent into shapes and fired into place onto the piece. Next, carefully washed powdered glass is painted into the channels created by the wires and kiln-fired in layers until the desired color is achieved.
The bail of the pendant features a mountain scene with glacier carved out of bronze. A flush set white cubic zirconia moon sparkles over the mountains.
Comes with a (16") leather necklace that has a sterling silver lobster clasp.
When fused to a metal background, vitreous enamel is strong; however, it's important to note that it's still glass. If dropped, struck, or abused, vitreous enamel can chip, crack, or break; please handle with care!
